A virtual Reality singleplayer game where you experience a flood and have to barricade your house to avoid water from leaking in.
This project has been requested by DAE research in name of the Testerep project. A historical project dedicated to unveiling the lost history of the testerep geographic area in front of the Belgium coastline.
The Flemish coast has a long and complex history. The modern landscape is the result of the interaction between both natural processes and human interventions. Although research into the history of this region has already provided us with a lot of information, many detailed questions still remain, for example, exactly how the coastline evolved over the past 5000 years.
Testerep project
In 2025 Testerep will hold an exposition about their findings and wanted a game attached to the expo to draw in interest from visitors, this was then handed to us as a group project of which 3/5 students have formed this company.
The game is played in a 3x3 meter area and has you sit in your house and barricade every window and plug every hole to survive, due to the actual history of Testerep the goal of the game was never to survive, but to have the players survive for as long as possible.
When the player has died their score is uploaded to a global leaderboard so that they can compete to improve their previous score.
The player is able to smash furniture into planks and sticks, barricade the door and windows and plug the holes. All while trying to survive…
